View Full Version : Not Alone

I thought of Maria, and Christmas, so I have posted this I've just finished, and dedicate it to Maria and her family. The ref photo was taken about 45 years ago in the Italian part of Switzerland near Lake Locarno. I was sitting in the church about to take a photo when this old lady walked in and sat down. We were the only two in there. It was a time exposure of several seconds. I have painted several versions of this over the years, in watercolors, this is the first digital: Paainter 8 sargent brush, cloning and a little freehand. I usually try to paint looser than this and freer, but the detail made that difficult.

a detail:

Just Beautiful Barry and I'm with you especially if you are painting an alter it is hard not to get detailed (with me it would be guilt if I didn't) ;o)

This is a beautiful piece. I would love to be able to paint this loose even if you think it is a little tight. Your use of light is incredible.

Babs, Marge, Jean and Bev, your all as kind as usual :)
Dave, thanks, I wish I could paint as smooth and accurate as you. ;)

Oh, thank you Barry. Thanks for remembering us.

I like the dramatic light and the details you have acheived with loose style. Great job.
