Lovely portrait Joel. The blues of the curlers conrast nicely with the skin tones. It reminds me a bit of the one Jinny posted of herself in curlers, done in the 80's!

Poor Joel, having his wonderful painting and that wonderful child a reminder of my goofy self portrait, "Mom in Curlers", or "Curler Ritual", done in the 80's but about ancient times in the 60's.

Sorry, Joel, but it's not my fault. Barry did it.

Seriously, Joel, I do love this portrait. You've treated a beautiful child gently and kept her soft and vulnerable... innocent.

Coop? How cute is she? I can see a (passion, fury, determination, stubborness, playfulness, curiousness) and every other adjective that so defines a child's expression. What intrigues me most, is your "play on colors", "distinct definition", "clarity" and "overall" composition". You paint with this compassion no matter what the subject! I just shake my head (in awe) everytime I view one of your creations as I do a few others here.

There are many artist in this group ... but few masters. Consider yourself one of the masters. I have just recently (and finally) begun to consider myself an artist and am learning so much since becomming a part of this forum.

Thank you Joel and all here, for contributing and helping me grow.

I remain humbled by all of your nice words. I fail at finding ways to adequately thank the same awesome people over and over. If I were a better wordsmith, I would do a better job of responding. I'm going to have to cop out again, and just say thanks!:)

Jin, let's go!... let's see those curlers!;)

You asked for it! ;)

Let's hope, though, that your beautiful Caroline doesn't grow up to look like this:
