I just got Painter lX and I love it!!  This is my first painting using this program. I'm going to have to look for some of the great tutorials in this forum. I need to work more on hair and skin tones, but I'm pretty happy with this as a first.

Interesting pose. The facial expression really draws you in. I like how you have the hair in such 'disarray'. I think, however, she is missing her left thumb? Maybe it just needs a bit more modelling there?
Wow! what a potent image! I can feel her sorrow! Great work Terry , i can't believe it's your first attempt with Painter ix:)

wow this is very under rated! This deserves praise, the anatomy on this is great, I like the structure and attention to the face :)

I'd be happy with it as a first too! The hands are not up to the detail of the face, but then perhaps that's what you intended?

Thank you all for your wonderful comments! As far as the hands go... I wanted the face to be the attention grabber, so I left some of the details out of the hands. Jageo, the left thumb is some where under all that hair, but maybe it would be better if some of it showed through. Again, thank you all. Painter is great!! Gotta go do some more painting!

Beautiful  , maybe just a suggestion of the thumb going under the hair would make the hand look more natural
