Up until this year, gouache has been my paint of choice. I've recently started using oils, but me and gouache sure had some laughs. This was a promo piece I sent around last year. The images were inspired by our beloved advertising ancestors of old.
Note the limited palette.

These are cool! I love the old advertising drawings. You don't see a lot of that type art around anymore, though I think the ones that are out there get attention. It is so different from what we see today.

I agree, the illustrators of the 30's-50's really had something amazing going on. Not seeing that level of craftsman/craftswomanship in the ads.

This is some fine work cry-1.
I enjoy using gouache and watercolour combined.

Indeed.
Leaflin has inspired MANY a person, but I wont say, to do WHAT precisely lol
( her site IS great - have you seen all those whistles )
