i think you've done a great job, especially since it's your first time! i love the background and it's an interesting subject.

Wendee,
Nice piece. You have a nice flow and movement in the elephant. Don't be afraid to pull some colors from the animal into the foreground/background and some of the foreground/background into the animal. Also good job on foreshortening the ear.

You must have been to the right of me, as I was painting my Elephant, I have slightly a different view of it, but it looks like the same Elephant.
