The place to go to is Assisi. Hit by an Earthquake, several years ago, it has been beautifully rebuilt in that golden stone. The town is barred to traffic and sits on top of a hill. This painting is of the Basilica, looking out over the valley, from a photograph I took in 2000.

I'm also posting a photograph of a gateway in Assisi. I loved the washing line! I have painted this myself, but is not quite my style. Please feel free to use it as a ref image and let's see the results.

Is this a painting?
Sorry Maria, I should have put my method as usually do. It'd from my own photograph and I clone and do freehand using the Sargent brush in Painter. Glad you like it, thanks. (The second pic is a photo!)

I am glad I read all the post before commenting because I was going to tell you you forgot to add the painting. Beautiful work and I love the photo ref! Actually I would love to see this in person. You should post it in the image lib.

Nice job Barry! And I just love the clothes line picture. If you don't mind I will save it for a traditional painting in the future?

YEs Barry I talked about the first one. When I opened your thread I was shockes to see such great painting..........!

I read your thread but couldnot beleive that the first one is a painting. As landscape is my weakpoint and I seldome try them so if anyone paints a beautiful landscape, it always wonders me......:D

Again I will say, great painting.
