In response to your inquiry,Crescent's Moorman fabric matboards are
intended to simulate the "look and feel" of actual fabric.Surface coverings
come in a variety of colors, are resistant to fading and are manufactured
free from flaws and imperfections. The surface is laminated to a core
consisting of high alpha cellulose with no lignin, buffered with calcium
carbonate to a pH of between 7.5 and 8.5.The various layers are laminated
using water soluble adhesive with a neutral pH.

Regarding the suede,this material is a man-made flocking,not a suede
leather. All of Crescent's suedes pass the Photographic Activity Tests
(PAT).

All of our Moorman suedes are manufactured to extremely high
standards. However,we do not manufacture the product as a medium for
artwork.Although,we are familiar with many artists who use Moorman and have
not had a report of any negative interaction.

If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks Roan for sharing this with us!! I absolutely LOVE this stuff....especially for soft look paintings. I just went down to my art store on Saturday and got a bunch of the stuff in all different colors. They will sell it to you cheaper if you buy ones already used for cutting mats. So I got a variety of boards for $10!!! Thats a great deal because a piece of regular suede matboard here is $18. Now I have a bunch of colors to try out!!
