View Full Version : my "furnace filter" pastel case

I now have 2, pastel cases made with 20 by 20 inch furnace filters. Half the furnace filters we can buy have a sine wave like cottony ripple to them perfect for holding pastels. I made the 2 pizza boxes myself by cutting, folding and tapping large pieces of corrugated cardboard (and 2 lids).

It's not a perfectly clean system. The (soft) pastels still get slightly dirty. But when I look under the furnace filters, I can see all the pastel dust has passed through the furnace filter and collected in the bottom. So I have my corners tapped closed very well or the dust would leak out on the carpets.

You can still see the 2 older photos I showed here when I had just one box in
an older posting three years ago. (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?p=727764#post727764)

Below are 2 fresh photos of the boxes.

That is such a creative idea - I remember seeing it in the old thread! Thanks for posting an update!

Hi,

It's a neat idea !!

You forgot to write : Don't come closer than 10 feet radius.

Great idea! Those filters should also keep the pastels pretty clean!

How cool is that!!
Can you trim the filters to fit different boxes?
