Sorry for the infinite number of posts! I do multiples so the old ones will scroll off and not build into huge image threads. Usually, however, the time between posts is at least 3 days. I worked fast on this painting.

Okay, here's the final product (I think):

His hind end looks rather strange, so I was thinking of cropping it further:

Which do you prefer?

Oh, and here's a picture of Kahless and his painting:

He was just to the groomers a couple of weeks ago, so he's not as shaggy as depicted.

Roan, Lovely, very nice. I like it with the excess taken out. Now it shows the Collie and all its best feature. I also opt for the full collie, not the cropped version. But, again what do I know. gloria

I also like the full version. When I look at the cropped version my eye gravitates toward the nose, but with the full version I see the whole face. Not sure if that happens in "real" life or if it's an artifact of the monitor.

I love it!

I like the cropped version, but not as far in on the right...keep a bit of that brown area on the pup's right side so the foreground is not completely white. It will also help the dog's body look like it goes into the distance a bit too.

Beautiful dog!...and painting http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

First of all I think it's just marvelous.
I can see this also done in watercolor. Great use of pastels.

I looked at this uncropped version end of the dog. Maybe if the flank, thigh area was a little more in shadow it may look more distant.
But even without doing any more to it I like the uncropped version better. It beautiful.

Thank you Cliff, Gloria, Diane and Ginette http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Didnt realize I got so far behind with this thread.

Definitely going to keep some of the brown spot. Thanks Diane!

I understand perfectly what you mean about the nose, Ginette. I'm going to crop it a little larger than shown here -- his nose doesn't stand out quite so much then.

Hoping to try my hand at watercolors again once the baby is born. I did do one of Kahless in watercolor over a year ago and it didn't come out too bad for a first time with that medium.

Thanks for your comments!

Sorry Roan I lost ya for a wile. I couldent remember where this was posted. (pregger moment!)

Nope don't know what I'm having. Wish I did. When we went for the ultrsound the baby was moving way to much. Camera shy I guess.
I don't have the heat problem. But boy do I have swollen feet. Look like susages YUCK!

I'm working on painting the baby room right now. Went with a blue base and am putting in cute things. ie cow jumping over moon, a big tree and some landscape. Wish me luck it's a daunting task!
