This is my first posting of an image in the Miniature Forum and would appreciate your comments/critique. It 2.5 x 3.5 inches on Fabriano Hot Press paper using artist grade paints. This is strictly an imagination painting and I am wondering if something small is needed on the viewer's right for balance as well as whether the background works?

Hi and Good Morning Ann! So glad I dropped in here and found you! This is lovely - watercolors I presume? I will leave it for others to critique the composition as I am not knowledgeable enough to do so! I do know I like it as is!

Hi Barbara, how have you been doing? I've seen some of the things you have been working on in the Acrylics Forum, if I'm remembering right :). Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it.

The background works! If you do decide to add anything, try it out first either on screen or with a paper cut-out. You don't want to spoil this little beauty.

Ann:
The background is beautiful! This painting is a winner with excellent color.
As to the right foreground, I'd say why not put a rock there with snow on it... but then again why?!!! It's great as is!!!

I feel that if you add anything else to it, it would pull the eye away from that wonderful tree. My eyes enjoy resting on that tree. Lovely.

Ann, you know how much I love this one!!! Those shadows in the foreground are gorgeous and your background, while being very different from your usual style, is awesome! That tree is to die for.

Marilyn, thank you. I hadn't thought about it being used for a Christmas card so thanks for that idea :)
