Jess,

 Wow, he just looks so lifelike. I really like your choice of colors for the calico pattern in the oranges. His eyes are wonderful, I have to agree with cyber_holic, you just want to pet him. What kind of pastels are you using, and what paper/board did you use?

i use the same for every peice, the cat is on grey velour paper and i used

hard pastels - cont'e, prismacolor nupastels.

soft pastels - sennelier, art spectrum, rembrandt and schminckes.

pastel pencils, just derwent and some carborthello :)

thanks again

What a lovely painting of "Jade"! Thank you for honoring her in such a beautiful way. She's a sweet kitty, and I am sure she'd be pleased. Jade is a cat I used to pet sit for, and I think it was very nice of her to pose for the photo for me. :-)

Beautiful work, and thank you so much for sending me the message to let me know it has been posted.

Thankyou kate

WC has helped me so much, especially all the members, iv'e learned a lot since being here and have even sold four commissions with another five on the way.

i especially love the WIP threads, i always study them so i can learn more and pester the members who use pastels on velour like me, they always answer my questions though and are so helpful :D

Thanks again

Wow Jess. You get the award for most improved! Not that your sketch isn't good...it is, but your pastel really shows growth and advancement. Great job!
