MY COMMENTS:
This is a new color variation I've been working on. I used GA Indigo Luster, some clear overlay for thwe stripes and some gold fume just to bring out more colors in the bead. Its built on a 8mm clear rod for a base so it transmits lots of light through and the colors captured depict a desert wind swept night here in New Mexico. Subtle browns and tans intertwined with dark blues and greens...

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Just curious what everyone thinks of the new colors? Too dark? And any stringing suggestions for a finished piece?

Very cool. I really like the blue/green color at the very top of the bead. I would like to see more of those colors through the bead. The movement/shape and colors are very pretty.

I think the colors are great. I don't know your old work, but "too dark" for what? The colors are very pretty. Especially all the variation in color. The only problem that I have is that I don't think your photo does the piece justice. You said that there is clear underneath to transmit light, but we can't see that in the photo. Also, the surface of the bead looks dirty and slightly out of focus. Maybe you could photograph the bead outside using natural sunlight (maybe coming through the bead so we can see it transmitting light) or maybe a black or navy velvet backdrop might look nice. Just an idea. I think the bead itself is nice.

I saw your bead and had to find my Niche magazine because of an article there about color. The colors you used are really close to the top 10 colors named in the Panone Fashion Color report for 2006-2007. The Panone color report is not yet up on their website but I wish you could see their color predictions. You are right on with your colors! I love the new colors & definately this bead too.

Very nice colors, but what I noticed first was the shape. I really like the combination of the twist and the stripes.

I am in love with the shape!!! I'm not too crazy about browns, so I don't want to comment on the colors. Love the shape and the twist of the colors!!!

That bead would work with so many designs it is amazing. To me it has a very masculine feel and would work with organic beads called Job's tears or brown cocoa rondelles.
Nice work!
