ArtsUnited Seeks Visual Art for World AIDS Day Exhibit

ArtsUnited is now accepting application for visual art submissions for it's annual World AIDS Day/Day With(out) Art Exhibit in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The theme for the exhibit is HIV/AIDS, and all works must address this theme to be included. The exhibit will be in place on the first floor of the Main Branch of the Broward County Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale as part of World AIDS Day observance and program the afternoon and evening of December 1, 2005. The program will be from 6 to 9 PM and will be free to the general public. There is no fee for artists to have their work included.
Following the World AIDS Day observance, the art work will be moved to Stork's Bakery in Wilton Manors and the Stonewall Library and Archives in Fort Lauderdale for display during the month of December. This is a way to acknowledge HIV/AIDS is with us all the time, not just the one day each year we recognize as World AIDS Day.
Applications are available at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd and Stonewall Library and Archives, 1717 N. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Applications can also be requested by emailing [email protected] or calling 954-530-2723. Applications are due by November 18, 2005, to ArtsUnited, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. All work submitted must be identified on the back with artist's name and title of the work, and be ready to hang or display and be delivered to the first floor, Broward County Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale on Monday November 28th between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM for consideration.
