I usually only show off illustrations I own sole copyright to. These were done for a submission I did to DC Comics. Obviously, these characters are registered trademarks of DC Comics, so I really don't have any more use for the images. I thought I'd show them off once before mothballing them.

Welcome aboard! Great looking pieces! Hopefully something good came (will come?) of their submission to DC. I also took a quick look at your site (will go back when I have a little more time) and thoroughly enjoyed what I saw. I was saddened by the notice on your website of the passing of "Big" John Buscema. His work, along with that of Jack "King" Kirby, were among my earliest artistic influences.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

I love the Superman piece, looks like a book cover... the Batman has a great feel, but then it's such a great character... anymore superhero stuff in the drawer? You're junk is better than alot of published stuff...

always a fan,

Thanks to everyone for the positive response! Unfortunately, DC has very few openings for painted covers compared to the number of artists available to do them, so my work remains confined to the game industry. Still, they make for nice portfolio pieces.

I was sorry to hear about John Buscema's death, myself. While other artists may have had more flash, I don't think any cartoonist ever had a better command of body language. With Frazetta, he defined the look of Conan for me.

On a technical note, I noticed that imbedding an image using vB code just shows me the URL in the final post. This is not how it worked the last time I posted images. Is it now necessary to attach an image to the file? I have avoided this in the past because the attached images don't show up when I preview the post. Can anyone comment on this?
