View Full Version : Nude study

This was a study for a watercolor painting, based on an exercise from a atercolor book (in Swedish (???)) I have. This is my first attempt at nudes, and first with figures on P&I.

Things I see:
- Her feet are too small.
- There's a lack of contrast.

Comments are welcome.

This is very good Els...what I see is a problem with both the arms and legs...

the legs need to be longer, and yes the feet need to be bigger.

If you remember that the elbow comes to the waist and the wrist to the widest part of the hip, you'll realize why I say the arm is too short too. :)

Now I see it... Thank you Arlene.

I HAVE to practice drawing figures. I have!

Eamon, I can't add much to arlene's comments. You DO have some good value going in the body. If I were doing this piece I would make the cloth she is lying on heavier in value just to separate her more from her surroundings.

Thanx Sass, if I do this piece again (maybe watercolors), I'll do it...

There might be some of the figure to improve, as arlene mentioned, but your style with pen it's great! it's not easy to reach that softness with those lines, You just did!
