I have ventured into an area that will always be a bit scarey for me. I few of my artist friends have gone and talked me into trying some colored ink art. Below is one of these attempts. I have no idea what colors are in this, so if it looks a bit strange, that's why :) This is done on 140lb watercolor paper. I worked on this while the paper was wet and just through caution into the wind :D From the lables on my ink bottles, I can tell you that the base colors in this are: Yellow, Purple, and Turquoise. After the work was dry I looked at it for quite some time and started to see a few images form in the painting. I then outlined these with black ink using one of my tech pens. I am now curious as to what all you people who can see colors think of my venture into the world of colors

PS: I do have a couple more if you're interested in seeing them let me know and I'll post them too :)

It is lovely - the balance of colour is great and it does have a dreamlike quality. I would be interested in seeing more. Nice to see you posting again :)

I think I must have just gotten lucky in the color combinations ;) I will post a couple more. I kind of like this color thing. Even though I have no idea what I'm doing

wb Artdude.

You've got some nice blending of colours here. The pen work makes it look like sponges growing underwater , which is another world in itself.

I've seen people that supposedly see color clearly come up with some pretty unappetizing combinations. This one is beautiful, and I'm not saying that because they are some of my favorite colors:D I too would love to see some more.

P.S. We had our house painted in Nov by a man that was color blind, and he did a great job.

Thank you Ruth :) It's good to be back. Glad to hear you like it.

Hi sass. I think I just get lucky when it comes to colors. I might just come up with one of those "unappetizing combinations" you mentioned somewhere down the road  Thanks for commenting :)

It must be quite a challenge to be an artist and be color-blind, but I have to say your graphic sense is highly developed and the colors in this piece turned out to be inspired. Please do post the others you have; I'd like to see them, too!
