I packed my knapsack, folded up my French easil and headed for the nearest park.
First thing I noticed was the wind...quite breezy today. My painting dried fast and sence I work wet on wet I had to stop before it was finished. Or was it finished long before I stopped? I'm new at this and I may have overworked it. Other than a dog that barked incessantly and the wind, it was a perfect morning!
I do watercolors and the painting turned out really light filled and vibrant! It has a look and feel that's different from anything else I've painted. It's not perfect at all but there is something magical about it.
What is that mysterious something? Anyway I'm hooked.
And another thing...I felt that being outdoors was a very healthy activity and good for my depression.
One question...My painting has no details. Are you supposed to put those in when you get home or do the entire painting outside?
Also my paper towels kept falling into the picture and I dropped paint from my pallette into it as well.
I guess those things get worked out as I do more. I would post my picture but I don't know how to use our scanner...plus you'll probably laugh at it but I don't care, I think it's pretty! :)
