Oil on canvas

I was commissioned to paint an Orange by someone in Tokyo who had seen an Orange of mine more than 20 years ago...
It was fun!

Excellent. Your work is very good. Are you using a limited pallet, and if so, with what colors?

I went and looked at your web page. I like the paintings in which you are closer to the people and the ones that have a subdued pallet. I do like the colors in the painting of the orange though. The orange is bright and the blue in the cloth is bright, but that's ok, because the rest of the painting is muted.

I can't help asking what about reflected orange into the white parts? The orange looks isolated?

Your design is as always predominant

I am impressed with the rich colours of the orange and the cloth - how many layers has that orange received? - I am also a fan of the movement from loose abstract sections to fine detail. Nice work

Thank you for all your comments.

Cobaltfingers, the monitor "shine" is a little misleading. There were a few orangy reflections and the orange looked more nestled:)

Karen I can't remember exactly how many layers- many...

Victor this one is now in Tokyo...:)
