"...all I thought of was making my colors sing, without paying any heed to rules and regulations"
I see purple in your painting. I like the purple. I see purple in everyone's skin, but others say blue and green. I rarely see any green. I used to use purple a lot for my protraits but shied away because it "wasn't right".
Is purple right or wrong? Am I color blind or am I just seeing the result of the skin tone's mix of blues and pinks? How come I don't see the greens everyone else sees? I see greenish umbers, never "real" greens.
I think I'm going to ask this in portraiture too because it's been bothering me for a while.

Thanks von, roan http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif
Roan i used a lot of blues and pinks...my skin has a lot of blue and pink in it....i wasnít going for any kind of realism in this ...just playing with line, color, shape and the texture of the pastels. I donít really see the greens either and in the case of my own skin..its very pink with a lot of blue..but i am going to take a look at the portraiture forum and see what they say about it..you have caught my interest !!
