I painted this last week. I don't like the left side of the bridge. c&c welcome.Jan409

How pretty. The left doesn't read correctly in regards to perspective. The back pilons are on the same level as the front ones. If it was mine, I would glaze the back ones to make them visually behind the plane of the front one. (Make sense? - Yeah I know as clear as mud :D)

The colours are beautiful, but yes, there is something odd about the bridge? It looks lop-sided to me but since we don't have these in the UK, I couldn't suggest how to correct it because I've never seen one. It's still a lovely picture though. Seems autumn is well and truly here in one form or another, lol!
I think the problem is that you have two different roof pitches. The right has a steeper slope which makes it look a bit unusual, some how out of kilter.
Is the bridge actually like this? If so you can always correct it in the painting. I think the trees and folliage look really good. I would be tempted myself to equal out the roof slope.

Thank you for the info. I will try to work on the roof, and I do believe the further back posts on the bridge are too bright. Maybe some of both are the problem. And no the reference pix is not wrong, I am. Thanks again. Jan409

I agree that the bridge requires some small adjustments but I just had to comment on your beautiful orange trees in the background there...Just yummy!!!

Thank you all, It is still green here, but I am waiting to see the color. I love it. Jan409
You can easily fix the bridge. But don't touch those trees. They are wonderful. So bright and cheery. I can almost smell the burning leaves that come with fall.

Thank you Chaz. I won't touch the trees, and I will fix the bridge. I have been sketching it on paper and have decided what to do with it. I think it will be quite simple. Jan409
