Hi all!
Hope everyone's having a good week!

Been busy and can't believe how long it's taken to paint a simple 5x7, but alas it's done!!! LOL!

Hope you like! It's simple in site, but there were a lot of colors used... in fact, the underpainting was in RED!!! LOL!

Thanks for looking!

I do like these pieces of yours Les - they have a beautiful C17th feel.
Maybe this is a good idea for a Classroom??????? :D :D ......... how to paint small (or large) works using coloured underpaintings and many layers.

OMGoodness! Thank you all for the kind comments! I really appreciate them and am much more comfortable listing it!!!

I am so flattered it looks classical. That's the style I love and have truly loved; the old Dutch "movement".

Everyone's work is so wonderful and I am flattered to receive such nice comments! Thank you for looiking and for the posts!

This is outstanding Leslie! You know I like dark backrounds and dramatic lighting. It somehow makes a painting come to life.

with working also in CP, I can see how many and subtle the layers are in this(you get used to seeing multi layered work in CP) It's wonderful. beautiful form with wonderful gradations...love how you can still 'see' into the shadows
