Yes, this is a site that many portraitists ck into frequently and learn from. It's a super site especially when studying the WIPs nd reading the critiques.

ETA: As this is NOT a competing site, I will leave this thread here in Portraiture. The SOG website is for members only and they do not solicit members on a come-one, come-all basis. Their critieria for membership is very high and based upon professional work and experience.

Yeah, I have seen this before and have it saved in my favorites actually. :) I didn't know there was a forum in this site though. I have noticed a few of the WetCanvas members on there. :)

The artists on that site definitely are awe inspiring!

I don't know...I'm not a huge fan of paintings done from photographs, and all of these seem to be so.

yeah, it`s a good site, i managed to get myself on there but as it`s about portraiture only i only go there sporadically......
actually most of the portraitists on that site are from the US, professional, and are in fact not in favour of paintings from photos....they seem to make that quite clear....they`ll answer you but always mention the photo.....
my only beef with the site is that they all seem to produce the same type of portrait, almost as if they`d be taught by the same teacher.....
still, top notch....
