This isn't finished yet, but I am quite happy with it so far. I still plan on more shading for flowers and leaves for shape. But I wanted to see if anyone has some suggestions other than that. It's my own reference photo, Arches 140 lb. 18x24 WNPaint
Critique welcome .

I love bleeding hearts too... But have never seen them
growing! Good job so far, Ruth... Are you going to deepen
the pink color on the blooms?

Thanks Jo and everyone else. I will proceed as planned.
I am going to deepen the pink on the blooms, and keep shading to shape them.I took the picture in bright sunlight so it washed out some of the color.
These were growing in my Daughter In law's yard and she's been anxious for me to paint them. I can hardly wait til I finish either.

Ruth, your darks are already deliciously deep and mysterious... love those pinks... I hope you don't go too dark with them... they're just popping out at me right now... This is going to be gorgeous!

Thank you Char and Doug :) I'm just going to brighten the flower color not darken it as suggested. I think I've finished, but waiting for better light to snap the picture. Hope the nuances of shape in the flowers show up. IRL they do, but seem flat on the pictures so far.
I'll be posting in the gallery next time.
