You are both very kind, lol
I thought I would do another to make it better, but it got even worse

Connie, I'm ashamed, you do such beautiful cows, and here's what I did to your photo :crying:

No bashing yourself here - both of these are lovely. The light on that tree is gorgeous (and I always find it hard to capture) and your cow is divine!!!!!
The tree's curve nicely, the cow looks like a cow even it's sharp back and tail (partly going up), after playing in the mud. Are you going to add some more right?

I think it's a lovely cow! Thank you for making two paintings :)

They both look fine! Even if they are not what you envisioned, the point is to have fun doing them, right? :D

Thank you Cori, Dewi, Connie and Mike :D
Dewi, do you mean will I continue working on these (I don't think so) or will I make more paintings for this WDE (I don't think so either, but who knows)?
Mike, yes, I had fun making these and I don't regret doing it at all, and you're right it's the main thing :D

They look fine to me Florence. Even when we aren't happy with what we have created there is usually something learned form them.

My fav is the cows.......afterall, isn't this weekend all about honoring Connie and her cows with a painting either of ourself or of her cows???
And isn't this just all about having fun?????????? I thought so....... :D :D looks like you enjoyed yourself, right?

Thank you Sherry and Valri :D
Well what do you know, I started another cow, but this one is a long-term project. It will probably end up with a disaster but it should be fun. Here's what it looks like at the moment:

I worked on it for probably half an hour, but I need to let it dry overnight. I'm on holiday next week, so I'll have time to work on it.

Florence, cow #1 is wonderful. Very fresh! I can't wait to see what cow #2 looks like!

I agree. I think it's also a novelty that someone makes a sculpture for the WDE. At least not in my time. Can't wait to see the finish! :)

I really like the sweep of your tree trunk.. it looks so strong and forceful.. but that cow.. (first one).. I gotta say.. it makes me want to duck so as not to be swished by her tail.. very realistic "ending"!

They are both far better than you think Florence. They have good points that far out weigh any bad points you think they have.
Their colour and light for instance, and you have made the cow look like a real cow that gets muddy, and not a pristine clean one done up for a show ring.
I can't wait to see how the sculpture turns out. Bu cinfident and you never know, you might suprise yourself. *Hugs!*
I've just found a neat trick. Hit the back delete button when your not in the typing window, and it takes you back several pages and you loose your post. I had to return here and type it all out again

Thank you Shar, Connie, Linda, Helen, Steph :D
Don't get your hopes too high about the 3D cow, though  Here it is after day 2. Need to allow to dry, so will probably continue tomorrow.

This is going much faster than I thought. I think the shape is finished now (I made a few small adjustments after taking these pics). I think she looks like a cow, do you? Well, with some artistic license obviously

The OP tree is very energetic. I love the grass treatment too. Lovely cow too...she is staring right at us with a friendly look. (I like cows).
I'm looking forward to seeing your sculpture!!

Florence...the tree looks great...nice sweep to it! I like the first cow and can't wait to see the 2nd one...it's been a very long time since we had a sculpture for a WDE. So nice to see!

Thank you June and Lorna :D
Connie, yes I intend to paint her, in fact she was already gessoed and ready for painting when I remembered about the tail  Now I need to let her dry again.

And here is the finished cow. She seemed a little lonely so I made her a Dutch landscape to cheer her up.

I like your paintings Florece, but the sculpture is stunning. As far as I know also, it's never done before during a wde. It's very good.
