Just finished 8 hours of painting, whew. This is from a photo taken this past May, of me and my husband outside the train station in Venice.

It's called "Second Honeymoon." 20" x 16".

I have stressed out way too much about the details, and I have decided to just quit being so anal and call it done. Overall, I'm satisfied with it, because when I look at it, it makes me happy. :)

Comments and critiques welcome as always...

I like this very much. The happy mood and closeness between the two of you really shines thru. I like how your smiles almost match each others. What a great painting to pass on to your kids :) Not only have you created a 'one of a kind masterpiece' but a family heirloom as well! Way to go!

Wow, thanks to everyone for such a positive response! It's very encouraging. I really like the idea of passing the painting on to my kids, though I hadn't thought of that before!

I want to do more things like this now. If only I had some more really great photos to work from. Guess I've got to start toting my camera with me more often.
