Also I have found the Art Spectrum paper at Hobby lobby now for like $5.99 I like it however I am use to Wallis. I was ordering the Sennelier 525 piece set new colors but many say that sennelier stick crumble too easy? help!

Dano: whoops...I forgot to add my response to your original question.
I don't know about the pastels you spoke of, but I have been making my own pastels and have found that I can make them as soft or as hard as I want. Also.... the pastels that are so soft that they crumble do have a place on my palette. I just catch the crumbles and save them in little baby jars. I label what I can, and the others I just try to keep in the same family. Then I regrin the colors and make a new stick. I like regrining lots better than starting from scratch. I also regrin some of my commercial (store bought) pastels when I need too. Let me know if you want to know more about this and I will post some more things I have learned. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Welcome to WC
Though I love Sennelier for their colors, I have to agree about the crumbling, unless they've improved on that. I've had sticks that, upon peeling off the paper, they just crumble apart and that's a lot of waste. There are other good brands on the market; for instance Schminke, Great American, Unison, to name a few. Maybe you could try a starter set or two to see what you like.

Welcome!
Wallis is great! I use that for most of my work and the balance is pretty much done on Crescent suede mat board.
Although I regularily use a few Sennelier colors, I have to agree that this brand does crumble easily. I prefer Schmincke overall. If you decide to try them and are looking for a good set of 180 ($399!), check out my post here:

I found this dealer while I was nosing around eBay one day and bought my first set from her. I'm assuming she hasn't changed her prices since August -- you may wish to email her and ask.
