I would increase the intensity of the highlight on the vase to something a lot closer to white but maybe not pure white. For the table to be convincingly reflective it needs a little more work and faithful reproduction of the reflection of the vase. I would also toss in a couple more highlights in the flowers.

It is lovely though. A few minor adjustments and this will be a winner.

I feel the light is wrong .. if the light is behind the vase the flowers would be somewhat of a siloutte because of the strong shadow .. I would move the shadow or lighten if off so that it is caused by a secondary light and not a main light source.

The flowers a fantastic, so are the leaves and I love the colour and textured looking background, it sets the flowers off nicely. I agree about the table though and the shadowing of the vase on the table doesn't seem to match. Other than that its a beauty!!

Love the colors. Working from imagination is hard. Sometimes, the subtle details aren't considered, such as shadows and hightlights -- reflected colors and values.

I really like this. The colors really are great and love that blue. The last revision is very nice.

Caroline, I like this as well. I notice that in this piece as well as your "ala prima" you've used yellows and purples that work together nicely. ~Lissa

Nice imagination. So good that im MY imagination, I can smell the lilacs. Golly, I hope they were lilacs. Thats what my imagination tells me anyway. I also agree, don't stop painting from your imagination. It's pretty good.
