Painterly and atmospheric. This is great.

Incidentally, what is pumice gel?

Pumice Gel is a compound from Golden which binds pumice grounds in a nuetral acrylic base. I hadn't seen it used before - until I saw Monet's "Rouen Cathedral in the evening" which was nearly entirely textured with a ground pebble-like medium.

Quick review on Pumice Gel:

1) Its very very sticky - I need to hose off before I could touch anything.
2) It goes very quickly - 1 8oz jar was spent on 1/2 a canvas
3) It does add texture, but absorbes like crazy. next time will gesso over it as I ended up spending an entire tube of zinc white to get an even chroma.
4) Is kinda pricy for what you get.

thank you. I usually try to have cool and warm tones juxtaposed in my paintings to create visual interest.
