What is the best (economical) way to purchase frames for paintings for personal use, (hanging in the home or giving as gifts)? Can "ready made" frames be purchased on-line anywhere? Most of the box stores have limited supplies. I'm not too particular about frame design. Most of my work is 9X12

Thanks

For personal use, I always pick up the light, wood-like frames at Walmart. Two for $5 or two for $10, depending on the size. Even a 16x20 is around $7. Along with a $2 piece of foam core board for the backing. I get two or three paintings out of that, depending on the size.

Christine, thanks for the reply. What about matting? Can you get frame plus matting in variable sizes?

Thanks

Yes, they carry matting as well, in different colors. At least my store does. (I work for Walmart). It's usually in the stationery section, as well as the foam core board.
