View Full Version : Man in the Moonshot...w.i.p.

This is based on a ref pic from a 1906 movie titled "A Trip to the Moon" by George Melies. He was the first filmmaker to use "special effects" such as these showing the first trip. The film was loosely based on Jules Verne's "From the Earth to the Moon". I still have to finish off the rocket, and I want to tone down the craters, soften the edges a bit more, and a few other finishing touches...
This is a 20"round canvas. All comments welcome. Thanks

Wow thanks everyone :) I got right back at it today, and here is the finished piece. I kept the pallette pretty simple, cad yellows and violet, some payne's grey. The clouds are white with a dab of ultramarine. All comments welcome
