Started this painting after a long period of idleness, for a friend. First time I played with masking, and had some minor disasters when pulling the congealed mask off the paper.

I I have to enhance the lines on the walking figures. I don't have formal training and want to learn more about colors and composition, so any ideas are welcome.

Thank you
-Jose

PS: I realize they may be a little too late for this painting :)

Hi Jose......I like your composition and colour......the 2 figures are placed well and balanced by the darker area in right foreground.....I like the white marks...I don't know whether they're intentional.....but they look like hieroglyphics and suit the overall theme ...very effective.....

Color choices great - technique looks top notch. The triangle glaze is very effective. I thought maybe add one triangle more going across horizontally?

Thanks all. Triangle glaze? Can you please explain what that is? Is that the vague geometric shapes I got by making arbitrary borders with masking tape?

Jose, I admire your boldness and willingness to take risks. I think it pays off for you.

Yes, I thought one more going across might add some more tension - sort of like this:

Thank you Kathleen. That composition looks a lot better than the one I have.
BTW, checked out your site. Really like your work, especially 'landscape III' and 'mountain village'
