This is one of a set of two 16x16 oils, Lillies...WIP, that go with another painting, the Amaryllis I posted earlier, 16x24, oil....The lillies will face in opposite directions, but will be squares one above the other on the left side of a set of doors going out of my client's kitchen onto her patio....and the Amaryllis is to the right of those doors...it is a set of three coordinating paintings, similar colors, which match the decor in her kitchen perfectly! She loved the Amaryllis, it is already hanging...

I still have the center to complete, and the stem and the background which is actually more brown than black with red undertones, like the amaryllis..they need to match...

Thanks for looking at my progress!

Here are both photos I took. They have been altered on my computer by adding a black background to give her an idea of what to expect. I freehanded them so they are not EXACTLY like the photo...doesn't really matter. As long as it looks realistic, I think she will be pleased. The first two you will see are the photos, and the third is the painting so far.

BTW, here is the Amaryllis that these will be coordinating with...I simplified it too, on the petals, and didn't show as much veining...kept it more simple...she liked it that way...smoother....anyhow, you see how they will coordinate with one another..:

Looks very nice - show us the other painting too, in due course - I'm interested to know what your choice of reds is, here, please?

Here are the finished products...these photos were taken inside with no flash...don't know how else to get pics at night of oils..the glare with a flash is unbearable! I'll try to get better pics in the sunlight...tomorrow, if I can. Anyhow, here are the finished products....my new experiences with oils have been enjoyable, but I have to admit, i'm extremely excited to get started on the watercolor portrait that is next in line.

Thanks for looking! my friend is getting them tomorrow, I hope she loves them!

(I don't think I cropped these the same, or sized them the same on here, but they are 16x16" square, studio wrap, painted around the sides..they will be hung unframed.
