Oils on canvas size 24 x 28 inches.

The local artist suppliers don't sell oil primer and this is and old painting I'm working over. Should be fun.

I'm still working on the Madonna.

I'll have to buy some decent oil paint primer to cover up that lot. Of course I might get creative and make the painting underneath work for me. I'll let this dry a bit before continuing to see if I can cover the old paint better.

You'll see I'm still bringing the head to anatomical correctness. Otherwise I have a new canvas with another painting to do.

Thanks Anita. The blue is from the green landscape beneath, but I like it myself. Could be worth a try.

i'm not too sure about the shape of Sweetheart's nose here. At the moment I'm playing with colours in that asian skin. It seems to me that a lot of Japanese women have far more transparent skin than a lot of other asian peoples.

I think your skin tones are amazing! You seem to have no fear with colour! I just landed my first commission (portraits of two teenage girls) which is laughable considering I have only 1 portrait under my belt! I am going to have to go back and study your work again, especially your mastery of skintones - I've learnt so much from you already.

HI Anita, all I an say about skin tones is be bold and not afraid of making mistakes. Also I would think that the tonal values have a lot to do with it.

Hi Mikey....I like the simplicity of shapes used in your shadows......her face looks very strong......is the bridge of her nose a little wide?
cheers kim

Hi Kim, it's a problem with the highlight nose, so I've put a little bit of shading in. Thanks.

Yes Anita, it's great to hear you have comissions.

I'm not feeling like painting so much as I should these last weeks. I'm looking to make the nose much better.

Now I have to finish the hair and do something with the bottom right corner. And before somebody reminds me do her teeth.
