I was just playing with complimentary colors. I used orange with blue in this portrait. Well I done this project in May , complimentary colors, with my students. And they enjoyed it so much. I also enjoyed it.

I used red and green in second portrait.

Excellent exercises to paint only in complimentary colors. I think I like the blue/orange painting the best. The white in the red/green gives it a death mask feel...not a bad thing....just an emotional jarring.

I like the way that you catch the look from the eyes with a minimal need for strokes and colors. :)

Thanks Carly for encouragement. I like the orange/blue image too. But in portraiture forum and in the other thread "Two hours of OP fun (and the Chicken!), June 6 - June 12" the thread starter liked the red/green one. But personly I like the orange/blue portrait. Because I puted more depth on it.
