Do you have a vaccume that works? Do you like it? Does it clean? Does it do what you want it to. I have had several and still have the things get clogged up in it. So does it pick up glass? What do you all like?

I have a Bissell bagless, and so far have not had a problem. It is only about two months old, and it sucks great!! (Sounds kinda funny) It has picked up glass, dirt, dog food, macaroni and cheese...the list goes on

Buy a Dyson - I actually look forward to vacuuming and I HATE housework! Seriously, I have sucked up all kinds of stuff in it - plastic army men, honeycomb cereal, dead bugs, sheetrock dust (a serious clogger-upper) and I even sucked a couple flies right out of the air with that thing! It's expensive but you will have to rip it out of my cold dead hands to get it away from me!

I was wondering about the dyson! It sounds like it would be a good one. Mine I have to unclog every to weeks or when I go over a dirty floor. Dog and dirt isn't fun. Even after DH can be a problem. Any way that is what I will have to save my pennies for. Will be putting down some linoleum in the living room. It is (carpet) so bad that I'm ready to start to rip it out. Ugh! Hate the darn stuff. Will the dyson work for floors? Probably. Ready to put new carpet in but it wouldn't last long. So I was thinking about hard wood or the other. Help. I'm vaccume challenged.

Buy a Dyson ....
Absolutely...I've had a number of high end vacuum cleaners over the years, and I wear them all out. The Dyson is like no other vacuum cleaner I used. No trouble getting glass scraps and bits or animal fur, on wood, tile, stone or carpet, it adjusts automatically. Try not to be scared off by the price tag, it's a special machine, albeit a bit heavy if you have to carry it upstairs. Good luck! Val

I love my Dyson.
I have 5 dogs and 3 cats.
My other vacuum was a bagless and every room you had to clean out the filter. You will never have to do that again. The dyson never loses its suction. Also the Dyson has several places that you can open if you suck up a peice of glass or a half eaten dog chew. I have carpet and tile and it works like a charm. You change from carpet to bare floor with your foot.
I have the Animal it has a attachment for wood floors and one for the furniture but I really don't use them. Now the have a Dyson that moves around on a ball. I bet that is the ticket. Mine is not hard to push because it has the weight in the right place.
I'll tell you I bet I never have to buy another vacuum again.

All right...you all have me convinced, I'm gonna trade in my Bissell for a Dyson! Now...can someone help me with how I am going to to tell my fiance that I spent as much on a vaccuum as I did on my dog? :o

The first time your fiancee sees that baby in action, he will be amazed. You won't have to explain anything - heck - he may even want to do the vacuuming for you ! :D

I bought the purple Dyson based on a thread here and I couldn't be happier. I only clean when I can't stand it anymore (or have company!), but I spontaneously vacuumed today since it is fun and easy! I love that if it gets clogged anywhere, there is always some easy little part that will snap off to let you find and remove the glop! I use it mainly on my hardwood floors, but it works well everywhere! I have a gazillion dollar Miele canister an Oreck (ex-dh got the zillion pound Kirby), and they are all ready for the trash heap...But not my trusty Dyson!!!! I got mine at Sears when they were having a 10% off everything day on an early Saturday morning.

Gave up my Kenmore and Eureka.... never turning back...

I had never heard of this vaccuum before. It seems like a decent price compared to others I have bought or been pitched. . . I checked out the website. Any other vaccuum recomendations?
Thanks,
Michelle

I have a Dyson and love it. Discovered something really cool the other day while vacuuming the car (I tend not to read directions, so maybe everybody else already knows this). If you take the long metal tube OFF of the hose completely, you can attach the small attachments directly onto the hose and you get a very very flexible hand held vacuum tool for tight spaces...loved that!

I'm getting a Dyson next...
I'm having a great time seeing how many different ways to spell "vacuum" in this thread :)

Me too. We've had them all. Buy the Dyson.

The only thing that I've found that comes close to our Dyson is my Fein Shopvac. It doesn't have all of the attachments but I can hook it directly to the dustport on the table saw. I wish Dyson made shopvacs, too - I'd buy one.
