anyone like this painting?

lately i'm digging this as my favorite degas, who was my first favorite as a child. i feel like peter denying that he knew christ for not proclaiming my love for degas as of late. degas knew the eyes were attached to other organs and that the soul has taste buds!

i am not sure if it's okay to post an image of this painting here. i just wanted to stir up some dust around this gem here in the oil painting section. it's in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Larned Coburn Memorial Collection.

Radaghast, One of my alltime favorites! Glad you posted this.

I have posted images of famous paintings before on WC. I think it's okay.

I was a student of Impressionism and Degas is one of the best draughtsmen ever! I think the colors are enhanced in this image, as I have seen many Degas' in person and his colors are usually more subdued. Ofcourse, that could also be the lighting. Dimly lit as a rule in museums, since he experimented with milk on his papers and other things and now a deterioration problem exists.

On the other hand , Mary Cassatt's paintings are archival and look as if they were painted yesterday. Good reason to leave archival papers alone.

I think that it is accepateble to post the image but they'd know for sure in the art history forum, which is where i'll be moving this post to. It'll likely generate more conversation there.
