How Do I Get Started As a Childrens Book Illustraitor?

I'm a freelance artist and I want to do childrens books,I was wondering if anyone had any information or knew of any publishers I could submit my work to online.Any and all information would be very helpful.Thanks bunches!!

I was reading somewhere (I really wish I had bookmarked that site) where Ebook publishers are often in need of artists. I know this isnt much info on the subject, but you might start with them and see what you can find out?
