the new issues of Juxtapoz Magazine features cover art and an interview with Illustrator/Designer/Visual Futurist Syd Mead.

The article is interesting; Syd definitely has opinions, and he's not afraid to voice them. The illustrations are too few, and some of them look rather dated, but others done at the same time look brand new, and the two new pieces shown are outstanding.

Syd is the guy who designed the Concorde (yeah, the plane!), and the vehicles from my favourite film, Blade Runner.

Juxtapoz is published by Robert Williams, one of the California 'car artists', who now creates some pretty intense and amazing fine art paintings.

Didn't know about the Concorde, but I do remember Blade Runner, and his other work on such things as Aliens II. Pretty cool.

I'm not familiar with the name but I am fan of the movie, Blade Runner.

Did a quick websearch get a little background on Syd Mead. Found a cool interview called Syd Mead Tribute (http://www.syd-mead-tribute.com/) which featured some pics of his work.

BTW, here is the address to the online version of the magazine: Juxtapoz (http://www.juxtapoz.com/)
