Okay, progress, if you will. Here's a page from my sketchpad. I'm trying to develop the two strip characters seen the in the pencil rough. Mazzoli and O'Conner. Police detectives. There are a couple of unrelated images on the page, as well, as there always seems to be.

This is great I love to see pieces of ideas. I always seem to get to see finished ideas. Thanks for sharing.
I just started an idea/sketch book. I'm really having fun with it.
Good luck with your police men http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks, people. Since embarking on this little "strip trip" a month ago (and putting abstract painting on hold), I'm learning there's a whole lot more to this field than meets the casual glance. Doing strips is almost like filmmaking. Long shots, medium shots, close ups. Pacing. Balancing of blacks and whites in the panels. Character placement and orientation in the panels. Balloon placement. Set-up lines. Optimum number of panels for a given gag. Etc, etc, on and on. In other words...I've got a lot to learn and a long way to go.
