Ladies and Gents,

Last Saturday. 11 of us met at Glass Express in Waterville for an enamel demo. We looked like a bunch of surgeons with the various masks! I guess in a way it was as Surgeon Mel operated on a bead and did her magic with enamels, silver and frit. (I got to keep the bead and, Mel- sorry, I broke it getting it off the mandrel at home. Gonna glue it and keep it though. Mine- all mine!)

Lyn (Lunamoonshadow) was unable to come but she'll be happy to hear that the drawing for the rod warmer finally took place and the winner was: Tina! (It came from WalMart, cost $2.50 and I got the idea from WC)

Others are going to have to chime in here. It was non-stop conversation, oohing and aahing over beads and notes, notes and more notes as we shared our knowledge and sources of all good bead stuff. Wish you all could have been there.

Looks like we're going to take June, July and August off and will resume in Sept. Lori (who couldn't make it) suggested a pot luck and/or yankee swap for a later meeting so maybe... Sept?

Thanks to Sue and everyone who does all the legwork pulling these get togethers together (hmmm...that sounds a bit redundant!). I am always so inspired after getting together with other beadmakers and I was long overdue for a beadmaking get-together! Both of us came home feeling so inspired. I can't wait to try out the copper mesh and sheet!

I wanted to play with the copper today but pooch #1 had to have unexpected surgery today. So I spent the morning at the vet with her and now I'm hoping to get the a-ok to go pick her up this afternoon.

I'm so bad with names so I'll just give a general - so nice to have met all of you! :-)

I was just doing a search to find out when the next meeting was, and read above that y'all are taking the summer off. What a bummer! I just arrived at my summer place and set up my torch, so I was looking forward to attending one of the meetings. Alas, my luck seems to have run out.

When will the Sept. meeting be? Early or late in the month?

Hi, Although I live in NY, I travel through Maine frequently to visit family. Can I come to one of your Fall meetings too? :)

Hi,

I've pm'd Alissa about a possible summer picnic....

And to Annik, we love to grow! Of course you can come! We send post cards to those on our list and we post details on meetings here on WetCanvas.

Watch for us!

Silly Sue...this was the wrong post to bump :wink2: This post is about the meeting that was in May and you meant to post about the meeting in Sept.

Have a great time...we're heading to RI for my folks anniversary so I won't even have time to hit the bead show while I'm there. Maybe I can talk DH into going that way home on Sunday to hit the show before heading back to Maine. :cat:

I truly do thank you for the clean up on my wrong bump. I did a search on Maine/area lampworkers and this came up first- probably cuz it was older. I didn't read thru it... just bumped it cuz I was at work and we're crazy here.

Still, this posting brought up good memories of this meeting-- looking forward to making another one from tomorrows meeting.
