way to go Scott.... now maybe I'll learn if my work is really more like that of an illustrator (heard that often).... and if that may be the way I am headed.. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/confused.gif

Hi Carol - really enjoyed seeing your work. What is the thinking behind the comments on looking like illustrations? Especially liked "Buddies". btw couldn't get it to enlarge. Thanks again.

This is great. I love illustration. What do you exactly want in posting. Just anything we illustrate? http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/confused.gif Do we post it here or is this under the projects?

mama2beartn,

I'd say post your illustrations here. This forum could use more content to get some discussions started.

BTW, please repost the image that you included in your reply to this thread. All I can see is the path.

Hello. These are very broad and general question directed at anyone who cares to answer. How does one get started in illustration? What mediums are best to work in?.Do you send ideas to publishing companies?I once studied children's book writing and we were advised never to illustrate our own work.Is this valid advice?Love to hear from people who work in the field.Thanks.Kim

Hi, Kim

I'm not a pro so I can't help you there. But, I suggest that you create a new topic in this forum and ask the question again. More people will see it when out there on its own, rather than being buried in this thread. Hope this helps.

I do my illustrations in watercolour and ink. I also use colored pencles. I illustrate my own work so I don't think it is wronge. But that is my opinion. Hope this helped some. Here is one of my older works.

It is watercolor with details in ink. Like I said this is an older one.

I would like to introduce you all to my new character. BECKY. She is a five year old Kindergarden who loves to get into trouble. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif This was my first sketch of her. I always doodle on cheaper paper, since I can sketch a good amount of wasted paper before I get a pic I like. This was sketch 22 if you get my drift. I will post a finish of her as soon as I can. Say bye Becky.
