I need some picture referances for gnomes if anyone happens to know some links. I need to do a few characters in the 3rd edition D&D style. Even a page with those cute little garden ceramic gnomes would work! I can find just about anything but a gnome. If any of you happen to know of an artist site that might have some let me know.
There's a buncha gnomes in the Monstrous Compendium and there's a TSR Book of Gnomes, I bet you know that tho :P
As for sites:
http://www.endicott-studio.com
This is Terry Windling's site and I bet there's a bunch of links that will take you to artists who have done all sorts of gnomes. There's galleries full of Froud, Lee, Canty, you name it! There'll be gnomes there somewhere :P
Hope that helps!

It rules, doesn't it? I love Brian Froud's work! Glad I could help you.

Thank you so much!
Between both those links I got a very good idea of how I am going to do this.

Here is a link to some Sweidsh Gnomes (try searching on Tomte, or Tomtar in Swedish).

The most famous Swedish gnome paintings were made by Jenny Nyström. Here is a linkt to a site with many images. http://samlaren.se-swed.net/jn1.htm
Here are two samples:

How about Gnome Depot?
Sorry... the most famous portrayer of gnomes was Rien Poortvliet. His book was quite a success in the US, and he's an institution in the Netherlands.
A search on his name brought up many pages, but this page is a good start:

BTW, he was an amazing wildlife illustrator. Check out this:
