Has anyone tried these Coal Heat Fixable Pastels? I have seen them in stores, and had no idea what the deal was, but dickblick's site says:

No more spray fix! D'UVA pastels allow you to permanently preserve drawings by heat setting them in your kitchen oven. These pastels are non-toxic and produce no fumes.

Permanently preserving drawings sounds pretty good, but baking them in the oven? I know my cooking is done when the smoke alarm goes off. Anyway, just wondered if anyone has tried them, and especially if the texture compares to regular pastels.

There is an article in the current issue of Pastel Journal about heat fixative pastels -- check it out.
