I'm still working hard on the new Mikey's Dream, this is taking a bit of a rest from that. I'm still working towards the Bouguereau flesh. You will notice that the eyes are less than properly formed at this stage. Bougie called this a sketch. Wow!

Here's the link.

Hi Mikey,
Iím not blending with a brush at all any more. Iíve been blending with just my fingers. I use paint stright from the tube in thin layers, then working whilst itís still wet I blend with my fingers. No medium at all. Iím working on this portrait now and all the flesh tones are blended with just my fingers. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3524790&postcount=102 From what Iíve read Bouguereau blended a lot with his fingers.

Hi Bruce, there's a lot to be said for using fingers. I did that a lot more when I used acrylics.

Hey that Smudged Perspective, every small towns beauty queen, is quite something isn't she. I'll have to take a look at your thread, if I can find it.

Hi Mikey....yep I wouldn't call the original a "sketch"..I think you will do a good job on it....the fingers do come in handy when blending....I know I 've used that method a lot...
ps Bruce...your portrait's looking good....terrific ref shot.....
cheers kim

Thanks Kim. I now wondering how best to use my remaining painting time, apart from putting on mirror plates and making my final selection. I'll have to take some out. Only me as the jury and committee.

LOL Mikey.....lucky you....you will have to take pics of your final selection and show us what you have selected......was just thinking what I would do if faced with the prospect of selecting my work for an exhibition and I think it would be a tough call...(most of my work is painted for comps...so does not really link together)....and as I have said before Mikey you have a very strong body of work....so enjoy the process.... :D
