A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Summer Fun!
Project Leader: Penny220
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Any Type
Medium: Mixed Media
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

This is a fun, no pressure, mixed media project for all, with no time constraint.

The project is simple:
"What is summer about to you?"

You may represent it any way you wish.

There are no examples or limitations. The point of the project is for you to look at the wonders around you, enjoy your summer, create and share.

Additional Information:

For more information on the project: Click here! (http://www.wetcanvas.com//Community/Projects/index.php?cmd=view_details&proj_id=866)

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

Well, Penny, you know I signed up. So in between selling books and art supplies, trashing clothes and an occasionally moment at the easel or drafting table, I will be pondering and then executing "summer fun."

Thanks for starting the project!!! :)

So glad you did Zoe. I thought it was time to have another "no pressure", come one, come all project. We're all so busy through the summer but this should fit nice into everyone's schedule. :D

Mary, one of the failure's of the Project system is that it apparently doesn't notify you when an image is added to the project :(

I think this is looking very handsome, especially for a formal bathroom for the wedding. As you continue to work on it please post some larger images. I think how you've described the layering is classy and I especially like that "central" figure for a ladies' room - yup, I still ladies of that era.

Good work, and thanks for kicking off Penny's project!

agreed the project system lacks in that area Zoe.

Mary these are great. Be sure to post the pictures of the bathroom as well as your paintings.

Well I bought my first container of molding paste today along with a few canvases. Most important, I have an idea and a plan. LOL

I put and oil pour over the first one in green and purple and lost a little of the transfer , but in a way that is what I wanted. I just want to add some shading over the gold leaf and I will post the first.

Can't wait to see what you all are up to.

I am afraid I did not clearly read the instructions, I missed the "mixed media" part of the instruction. I'm not sure if there is a way to remove my entry but if you can then go ahead. Sorry about that folks.

Lumina,
sorry I missed your post I was out of touch last week. You can go to the project section and quit the project if you wish, there is a link for it.

This is great and yes, it's exactly what summer is all about  I miss not having a horse. When I was little I use to pack a sandwich and drink for me in one side of the saddlebag and grain for my horse, we would be gone all day. Thanks for bringing the memory back to me.

This is very nice Chris, did you make the stencil yourself? Boxes make wonderful gifts and keepsakes and I am always surprised that it's the men that seem to like them best even if they are painted with flowers.

No Penny.... One thing at a time :D This was from a book I bought on Ebay. Nearly killed me to cut the stencils out of the book but I just couldn't resist :D

Watercolour is all I have at the moment Zoe. I am resisting like mad the temptation to buy acrylics. I have very little room left in my little bungalow for any more art and craft supplies. I suspect you know exactly what I mean :D
If you want to see any of my work .... all of it is on WetCanvas! :cat:

What fun!!!! With the bright colors and the temperature outside I would have thought these colors would add to the heat but they don't. They are simply vivid, brilliant and proclaim "fun" in summer! Great job!

What I wouldn't give for the relief of having a storm cloud like this overhead! I enjoy your color choice; muted but not grey or muddy, looks like it's sunrise or sunset that the storm is striking. I can see the rain falling behind the cloads

We're having the first rain in about a month ourselves. June is always stormy. Then July and August, hot-hot-hot.

Thanks for your comments! :)
