Brush washer

If you are a messy painter, as I am, get a small plastic tool carrier (three compartments) for water. Mine is about 3" high, has two big cup sized compartments, and a long compartment. It has a handle, too. It cost $1.97 at a discount store. I also cut up plastic mesh from the craft store to fit into the bottom of it, to rub brushes on. (I knock jars and cups over.)
