My eraser got like most erasers black and dirty from graphite. I've tried to scrub it against clean paper etc but it will not get clean enough until I found a piece of sandpaper (medium rough). Now I don't have any problem to clean the eraser, it looks like new!

Rosemarie, you get the award of the best tip!
I'm using the sandpaper for my pencils, to sand coats of gesso on my canvas and I didn't though to clean my eraser with!
My undertable and my pants thank you a lot!
Best tips are the most simples!

In a pinch, I've found rubbing it on the carpet works well. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Until i learned of Rosmaries' sandpaper trick i used to use my blue jeans. I noticed that they all have a distinct white spot on the right thigh... By Golly i think if i'd continued i might have eventually erased myself completley! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cheryl, LOL, if you write it up as a paperback diet book you could probably make a fortune!

Or at least a hole thru yourself like Golie Hawn and Meryl Streep got in one film I can't remember the name of.
