This is too gorgeous!!!
I've just started experimenting with watercolor - so far I'd say it's the most difficult medium to master - oils and acrylics, certainly pencils, seem like instant gratification now when I compare them to watercolors. Thank you for such inspiration. I love landscapes; and the water you've done is perfect.
I love it as it appears here - dark - I'd be interested to see the differences as it is in reality. (Hope I haven't gushed too much - :cat: )

Hi,
Just got back from spending the night with daughter and family (4 grandchildren & husband), so didn't know I had received so many nice comments on my little painting. Thank you so much. :D
It really was a very calm meditative setting at the time I took the ref. photo. .... that isn't always the case as this is a great destination for a lot of boaters, and can really get busy on holiday's and week-ends.
Thanks again......... Nancy

Beatutiful painting. I like the composition a lot- Simple, clean, very strong. Lovely sense of depth and distance, and I agree with paintsplatter- The birds are a crowning touch. And the way you've handled the surface, the reflections and colors in the water- Gorgeous. You've made it all look easy :D Great work!

Thank you all for the nice compliments.
I really enjoy the smaller format, and the challenge of trying to capture the moment on paper as I remembered it. Of coarse I took reference photo's, but the feeling was of calm tranquility with just an occasional bird chirping in the back ground. Hopefully that's what you see. ;)
Again, thank you guys... Jody, Jeri, Mark, Charlies Mum, Cloud Drifter and Starsprite, for taking the time to comment on this little painting. I really appreciate the kind words.
