I have never read anything on this thread before, but I wanted to see if anyone that teaches art has ever thought of this. I have two grandsons both of whom are color blind. I do portraits by making a posterization on my Adobe Photoshop and then using a limited pallet, I paint in all the areas using colors. However, this same process could be done with shades of grey. If the child could distinguish the values of colors, he could use any colors as long as they were the right value. When I was with my 6 year old grandson, I showed him the rudiments of this procedure and thought what a wonderful idea it would be to use this method to teach other color blind children.
