thought i,d post these pair of blue bills i,m working on,i will keep posting pic,s as i gain on em:>)))),please be patience,i think that,s how you spell it:>))))),hopefully it might give someone some idea,s or some kind of help in carving decoys,i dont know when they will be finished,hopefully within the next 2 weeks,regards,milford.

This looks like superb work Milford, although I don't know just how many people on thid forum are going to feel qualified to comment.

hello mikey,it,s good to finally get a post:>)))))),just thought i would try this road,maybe get someone interested in carving birds,hopefully i might get some advise from other carvers,i can use it also,i will make a few more post,s of the finished decoys in the next week or so,thanks,milford.

Hi Milford, don't know if you have tried the other forums, but do know we have a bird wood carver around somewhere.

hello spyderbabe,i use a wood sealer on the decoy after it,s wood burned,3 coats,then i,ll use one coat of gesso before painting.

some more pic,s of the pair of bluebills,you can see where the wing is joined to the body of the hen,the head needs to be painted on the hen,some more feather split,s painted and vermicalation painted on,both ducks,i thougth i would carve a single feather to place in the drake,s bill,since he is suppose to be picking at the hen,s wing,i thought it would make an interesting pose for a pair,it,s the first time i,ve tried this with a pair,anyway,enough babbling:>)))),i will post a few pic,s of the finished pair in the next few days,regards,milford.

Some Pictures Of The Finished Pair Of Lesser Scaups,both Decoys Took About Two And A Half Weeks From Start To Finish,if This Gives Someone Any Ideas,or Gets Someone Interested In Carving,it Was Well Worth Posting In This Forum,and I Have Got A Long Way To Go Myself,happy Carving,:>))))))))),milford.
